Large Market Electricity
Larger properties that consume more than 100-megawatt hours (Mwh) of electricity p.a. can approach retail suppliers individually and have the retailers bid to supply the electricity. This will save the building significant electricity costs rather than purchasing energy on a month to month basis. The contract terms are usually three years in duration.
We recently completed a bulk tender to increase discounts, including 55 sites with an estimated annual saving of $649,464 for our clients.
Small Market Electricity
Properties that use less than 100-megawatt hours (Mwh) p.a. have a lower negotiating power with retailers as their consumption is far less than the larger properties. Strata Choice proactively bundled these smaller electricity consuming buildings together to form a buying group for electricity. The result was that their collective buying power achieved a discounted rate.
After recently completing a tender which included 540 sites, an estimated annual saving of $397,526 was achieved for our clients compared to default market rates..
Gas
A bulk contract tender including 166 sites has also been completed with an estimated annual saving of $152,586 for our clients.
