A Family Business

Strata Choice is a family-owned business – founded in 1984 by Maria Linders, one of the pioneers of Sydney’s strata industry, and now proudly owned by her two sons.

From humble beginnings managing a handful of buildings around Lane Cove, we have experienced tremendous growth and built a portfolio of over 30,000 lots across Sydney, for a total asset value of more than $31.2 billion. But, at our core, we have always stayed true to the same family values and client-first approach that made us who we are and that has made all the difference.

From the way we service our clients to the way we interact internally, this family ethos remains at the centre. It inspires us and ensures everything we do enriches the lives of those who live, work, or invest in the communities we manage, now and for years to come.

Seeing a Need

Early 1980s: Maria Linders recognises that strata communities across Sydney are being let down by poor service and a lack of genuine care. Having served on a number of strata committees herself, she is determined to make a change. She undertakes the necessary training to become one of the city’s first licensed female strata managers. With a clear vision and a client-first approach, she establishes M Linders Strata Management Pty Ltd — a family business built on trust, integrity, and the belief that every building deserves dedicated attention.

Building Around Family

Maria’s portfolio grows as she earns a reputation for reliable, client-focused service. Maria’s children, Jackie and Daniel, join the company, bringing fresh energy and a shared commitment to her vision, and they move from their family home to their first office in Lane Cove. Her son, Geoff, comes on board soon after, and with family at its core and innovation shaping its services, Strata Choice begins to achieve strong early success and lays the foundations for continued growth.

The Next Generation

Maria is recognised with the ISTM’s President’s Award, celebrating her pioneering contributions to the strata industry. In 2008, she retires, handing the reins to her children, who carry forward the same family values with renewed ambition. Under their leadership, Strata Choice achieves remarkable success — winning multiple awards and finalist nominations, including the SCA Strata Management Business of the Year for NSW, Australia, and Australasia.

Four Decades On

Strata Choice marks 40 years in business, celebrating four decades of service, growth, and community. Now headquartered in the Sydney CBD with 13 meeting locations, the company employs more than 70 dedicated staff and supports over 30,000 owners across the state. With an impressive portfolio that includes some of Sydney’s most iconic buildings, Strata Choice continues to honour its family values while setting the benchmark for strata management excellence.
